On November 3rd, Arizona voters will head to the polls to elect candidates up and down the ballot. The Arizona Chamber of Commerce Industry as well as the Arizona Manufacturers Council have endorsed many who they view as pro-business.
Since 2000, Arizonans have gone to the polls and voted for numerous education-related initiatives. Elected officials have also worked together to make progress on education funding and the education funding structure.
How does Arizona's initiative process work? How can it be co-opted by special interests? In this project, Business Ballot explores Arizona's unique mechanism of direct democracy while also analyzing the current system's successes and drawbacks.
